Deanna is a sophomore Writing major at Geneva College and the setter on the Golden Tornadoes Women’s volleyball team. She has two wonderful/ridiculous parents, an older brother, and an older sister. In her spare time, Deanna enjoys playing sports (any and all), reading books, playing the piano, and writing music, short prose, and poetry. She loves coffee and hates Aunt Jemima syrup. When she’s not at Geneva, she resides on Long Island.
Deanna chose to study pieces of art in which water is portrayed as dangerous or threatening. She attempts to subvert the stereotypical depiction of water as pure and calm in order to discover instances when water is the villain or opponent to some other character in the work.
